This is a Thing: The Invisible Horse Dance

Have you seen the video for “Gangnam Style,” by Korean pop artist Park “Psy” Jaesang, which has blown up the internet over the past couple of weeks? Most of us have no idea what he’s rapping about—apparently the song is actually a “suprisingly subversive” commentary on wealth and class in Seoul, which is fascinating. But what’s really hooked the world on this video is the “invisible horse dance.”

That’s right. Haven’t seen it? It’s pretty much exactly what you’re imagining:

So goofy—dumb, really—yet it has a certain je ne sais quoi, right? And it’s slowly taking over the world. T-Pain apparently loves it. Nelly Furtado did the dance at one of her recent concerts. Psy showed up at a Dodgers game on Monday, and the fans started invisible horse-ing all over the place; then Psy stopped by VH1′s morning show and gave the hosts a little dance tutorial. At this rate, it’s only a matter of time until “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” picks it up, and once that happens, game over: You’ll be doing it at bar mitzvahs and weddings for the next 10 years.

If you haven’t seen the video—or if you just need a little Friday pick-me-up—here you go. Happy weekend, everyone. Get your invisible horse on!
