There is something truly magical happening down in Mobile, AL.
What do I mean by that? Well, Mobile generated the Prancing Elites, an all-male J-Setting cheerleading group. And the Prancing Elites are my new favorite thing. Ever.*
You’ve seen J-Setting, even if you’ve never heard of it, because there are bits of it in Beyoncé’s “Single Ladies” video. It essentially evolved from stepping before becoming popular in southern African-American gay clubs. And it is straight-up fabulous.
The Prancing Elites are one of those things you could never have imagined on your own—but once you see them, you won’t be sure how your universe functioned without them. They are just so awesome that I’m actually at a loss for words. And I’m a writer, you guys.
So I guess I’ll let the videos do the talking. Enjoy!
*And also Shaq’s favorite thing, apparently!
