On August 21, Boston Ballet embarked on one of the most epic #throwback’s we’ve ever seen. The company reenacted a photograph from the 1970s, showing Boston Ballet dancers posing on the Boston Public Garden’s famous swan boats.
The photo shoot was staged for publicity surrounding BB’s new Swan Lake, choreographed by Mikko Nissinen, which will run from October 30 to November 16 at the Boston Opera House.
There’s something a little bit funy about super-serious ballerinas posing on a paddle boat shaped like a swan, but hey, we love it anyway! And of course, we love anything that makes a few more people curious about dance. Watch a clip of the boat’s journey here.
