"DWTS" Week 6: Latin Night

October 20, 2014

This week “DWTS” was Latin dance-themed, which usually means the sexiness factor is turned way up—and last night’s show did not disappoint. There was a lot of booty-shaking. But we’ll get to that.

The good news: After last week’s switch-up, everyone was back with their respective partners. (Phew, because Witney Carson and Alfonso Ribeiro are obviously made for each other.) The bad news: You might have heard the DS editors’ collective “NO!” when Allison Holker and her partner Jonathan Bennett were eliminated. The worst part is that Jonathan, who’s been having kind of a hard time on the show, really hit his stride last night with a jazz routine.

Michael Waltrip, another underdog, and his pro-partner Emma Slater also stepped up this week, dancing a slow, gentle tango. I never thought I would like a tango that didn’t involve lots of smoldering glances, but this one was sweet and it really worked for them.

Of course, Witney and Alfonso killed it with a salsa-ish routine to JLo’s “Booty.” It opened with Witney’s hair blowing majestically in the wind followed by some fancy salsa footwork, and it definitely contained some modified twerking. What can we say? These two can do no wrong! Check out their close-to-perfect routine below, and let us know what you thought of last night’s episode in the comments.
