Our Fave Dance Moments at the 2016 Teen Choice Awards

July 31, 2016

Last night’s 2016 Teen Choice Awards were super fun, per usual. And the best part? Dancers were highlighted in huge ways! Read on for our favorite moments.

Serayah McNeill’s Performance

You may not know who this fierce actress/singer/performer is yet, but last night proved she’s about to seriously blow up. The Teen Choice Awards was the “Empire” actress’ first television singing performance ever and you guys, she KILLED it. Serayah sang her hit song “Look But Don’t Touch” and danced with a fierce group of ladies (Paige Fralix, Candice Savage, Asha Franklin, Kaelynn “KK” Gobert-Harris, Maasa Ishihara and Mao Kawakami), all clad in bedazzled bubblegum pink outfits. It was some serious #Squadgoals.

Maddie Ziegler’s Win/Cameo

Another day, another addition to Queen Maddie‘s already epic resume. (It was only just a few days ago that she announced her latest gig: dancing on tour with Sia.) The “Dance Moms” alum scored the surfboard for #ChoiceDancer beating out many formidable dance-world names like the Hough sibs, fellow “Dance Moms” girls Kalani Hilliker and Chloe Lukasiak and Misty Copeland. Although Maddie didn’t have a chance to thank everyone via an acceptance speech, she did post an appreciative thank you to social media:

To ALL my fans…thank you. Thank you, thank you, thank you for voting ?? #teenchoice

But that wasn’t the only Maddie news of the night. She also made a stage appearance with fellow “So You Think You Can Dance” star and host Cat Deeley in a skit where the pair jokingly judged the Teen Choice Awards hosts, Victoria Justice and John Cena, on their dancing skills. The final verdict? They needed some work…

I just love her so much! ? Thank you for all of the support @catdeeley

Jason DeRulo’s Performance

The singer and beloved “So You Think You Can Dance” judge, Jason Derulo, wowed the crowd with a medley performance of some of his greatest hitsnot to mention some hot dance moves.

Dancer Style on the Red Carpet

It’s no secret that dancers are known to have some fabulous fashion moments and we loved watching them werk that Red Carpet last night. I mean, could they be any cooler?
