Joe Jonas and Cheryl Burke Join the Jabbawockeez

June 2, 2015

Yup. Joe Jonas. Cheryl Burke. The Jabbawockeez. It happened. And it was pretty great!

That unlikely combo comes thanks to NBC’s “I Can Do That,” a wonderfully weird extravaganza that started up a couple of weeks ago and is possibly my new favorite thing. The show puts six celebrities to the test each episode, asking them to learn a new skill in a week and then perform it in front of a live audience. No judges or eliminations are involved—it’s just for the fun of it, although one cast member is named the “ultimate entertainer” at the end of the whole shebang. (Curious to see what that trophy looks like.)

This season’s guinea pigs are Cheryl Burke, Ciara, Joe Jonas, Nickole Scherzinger, Jeff Dye and Alan Ritchson, and oh my goodness: They are very talented, VERY BRAVE souls. I mean, last week’s episode had Scherzinger and Ritchson flying around on wires.

This week, though, things took a delightfully dance-y turn: Burke and Jonas were challenged to up their b-boy game as the newest members of the Jabbawockeez. Eee!

Naturally, Burke’s verrrrry legit dance training was put to good use, and Jonas…well, you’ve seen him do “Single Ladies”; he was able to hang in there. Kudos to the always-awesome Jabbawockeez for showing the pair to their best hip-hop advantage. (And for getting “Uptown Funk” stuck in my head for the 30984573759258th time.)

What do you all think?
