Misty Copeland's Essence Cover Is Gorgeous

March 22, 2017

How have you been enjoying 2015 so far? Or, as the DS staff have begun to refer to it, The Year of Misty Copeland?

I MEAN. Over the past few months, Misty has:

-starred in perhaps the greatest commercial of all time;

-wowed critics and sellout audiences with her sensitive portrayals of Odette/Odile in Swan Lake;

-earned a spot on Time Magazine‘s “100 Most Influential People” list;

-announced that she’ll make her Broadway debut at the end of August;

-become the first black female principal at American Ballet Theatre.

NBD.

We’ve sung Misty’s praises again and again and again. But we’re going to sing them one more time—and we know y’all aren’t going to complain about that. Because there IS NO SUCH THING as too much Misty.

The latest reason to worship at the Copeland altar comes courtesy Essence magazine, which made Misty its September cover girl. Naturally, she looks fantastic; we’re especially loving her super-swirly Zimmermann dress. (And the fact that the cover line references her Insta and Twitter handles—bonus points!)

Cover lines ON POINT.
