There are a certain few movies I will drop anything, at any time, forever and ever, to watch. Center Stage is one of them, obviously. I will unabashedly admit that How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days is another. (I just have a thing for it, OK? Stop judging. I can feel you judging!)
The movie that's been on the list longest, however, is The Princess Bride.
And, that, my friends, is why I literally squealed with joy upon hearing the news: Disney is developing The Princess Bride for the stage.
Unfortunately, that's pretty much all there is to say at this point. There's no word yet about director, or composer, or choreographer, or when this (presumably) magical production might be making its way to Broadway.
But I'm just going to bask in the glow of the announcement for a while. Who wants to start brainstorming potential musical numbers?
"As You Wish"?
"You Killed My Father, Prepare to Die"?
"Rodents of Unusual Size"??
So many glorious possibilities!
Obviously, I'll let you know as soon as I hear so much as a peep more about this fabulousness. Stay tuned!
