ABC Reveals Cast of “Dancing with the Stars” Season 12

Last night, ABC released the names of the 11 celebrities that will hit the dance floor for the twelfth (twelfth!) season of “Dancing with the Stars,” which kicks off on Monday, March 21. The group is composed of actors, radio personalities, models, athletes, the token Disney Channel star, and more. We’re pretty sure we’ve heard of at least half of them… Indeed, after two straight seasons with tabloid-bait cast members including Bristol Palin and Kate Gosselin on the roster, it should be interesting to see if the show can maintain it’s high ratings this time around. Here’s hoping that there’s still a significant number of “DWTS” fans out there who tune in to see the dancing—or who can, at the very least, still find pleasure in watching lesser-known figures fall on their faces!

Without further ado, here’s the list of celebs hoping to win your hearts and votes with their samba skills:

  • Kirstie Alley (actress)
  • “Psycho” Mike Catherwood (radio personality)
  • Chris Jericho (wrestler)
  • Chelsea Kane (actress and musician)
  • Sugar Ray Leonard (boxer-turned-TV personality)
  • Ralph Macchio (writer, director and producer)
  • Petra Nemcova (model)
  • Romeo (singer and actor)
  • Hines Ward (football player)
  • Kendra Wilkinson (reality TV personality)
  • Wendy Williams (talk show host)

The network has yet to announce which professional dancers will be partnering the celebrities, but we’ll be sure to bring you that news as soon as it’s available. In the meantime, we want to know what you think of the new cast. Are you pleased with the people on the list? Do you know who they are? Any early favorites? About Colleen Bohen

I’m proud of my “comp kid” past! Dance meant everything to me when I was a kid, and I spent my happiest hours studying ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical and hip hop for 15 years at my local Long Island studio, L.A. Dance Studio, and competing with its company. I majored in journalism at Hofstra University, and save for an early stint with the student-run organization Danceworks, my dance career wound down just as my journalism career ramped up. Most of my attention was soon diverted to my work with the school’s newspaper, student magazine and an internship in NYC. After college, I spent a few years as a business journalist covering the toy and consumer electronics industries and now I’m ecstatic that I’ve found a way back to my first love—dance!
