“SYTYCD” Season 7 Recap: Top 7 Results

Bummer! Last night, for the second time in a row, we learned we had to say goodbye to a “So You Think You Can Dance” contestant because of an injury. Though Billy and Jose were forced to dance for their lives, we soon learned that Ashley needs a few weeks of rest to recover from her rib injury, and in turn, that she was eliminated from the competition. Luckily, Nigel said he expects that she will reunite with her “SYTYCD” pals later this year when the gang heads out on tour. Get well soon, Ashley!

Ashley’s departure means that Lauren is the only girl left standing, along with five guys. (You go, girl!) I feel bad about the circumstances under which Ashley left the show, but i must say, I’m looking forward to the routines that we’ll see for the rest of this mostly male season. I love the way the same-sex partnerships are forcing the choreographers to come up with so many new, creative storylines for the dances. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for next week’s show!

What did you think about Ashley’s departure? Tell us here.

About Colleen Bohen

I’m proud of my “comp kid” past! Dance meant everything to me when I was a kid, and I spent my happiest hours studying ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical and hip hop for 15 years at my local Long Island studio, L.A. Dance Studio, and competing with its company. I majored in journalism at Hofstra University, and save for an early stint with the student-run organization Danceworks, my dance career wound down just as my journalism career ramped up. Most of my attention was soon diverted to my work with the school’s newspaper, student magazine and an internship in NYC. After college, I spent a few years as a business journalist covering the toy and consumer electronics industries and now I’m ecstatic that I’ve found a way back to my first love—dance!
