The Dirt: Navarra Novy-Williams

April 24, 2011

You always read about those dancers who can do it all—and here’s another one: Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet’s Navarra Novy-Williams. The beautiful blonde is a classy, elegant mover who still maintains an earthy, grounded vibe onstage.

A native New Yorker, Novy-Williams trained at The Juilliard School and graduated with a BFA in 2006. She danced with Les Grands Ballets Canadiens de Montréal, where she performed works by Nacho Duato, Ohad Naharin, Mauro Bigonzetti, Shen Wei, Christopher Wheeldon and many more. In 2009, she moved to Israel, where she danced with the Batsheva Dance Company for a year before settling back in her hometown to join Cedar Lake. Read on for The Dirt from this versatile up-and-comer!
