Cincinnati Ballet to Debut Emmy-Winning Choreographer Travis Wall's New Piece

September 10, 2017

Travis Wall has taken the contemporary world by storm with his Emmy-winning creations for “So You Think You Can Dance” and mesmerizing works for his own company, Shaping Sound. But this month, he’ll dip his toe into the ballet world with a new work for Cincinnati Ballet. (Wall also choreographed a piece for Los Angeles Ballet back in 2010.)

“I really love the sensuality of his movement,” says Cincinnati Ballet artistic director Victoria Morgan. “It’s very organic and aggressive—an interesting combination.

His choreography is full of energy and unexpected twists and accents.” The piece is part of the company’s Kaplan New Works Series, and will be presented alongside three other world premieres.

Cincinnati Ballet’s Kaplan New Works Series runs September 14-24 at the Aronoff Center for the Arts.
