Do You Dare to Dance–for Ellen?

February 20, 2012

I’m a little late to all of this, but about a month ago dance fan extraordinaire Ellen DeGeneres issued a “dance dare”: She challenged her fans to submit videos of themselves dancing behind people who had no idea they were there. So simple—and so perfect!

Here’s the clip, made by Ellen staffer Andy Zenor, that inspired it all:

Bahaha! It still gets me every time. (And hey, Andy: You’re pretty darn good. Give us a call?)

So, naturally, the entries have been rolling in. If you have a few minutes to procrastinate this afternoon, do a quick YouTube search for “Ellen’s Dance Dare.” You won’t be disappointed. And if you’re feeling inspired, upload your own clips! It looks like most of the entries so far have been made by non-dancers—how awesome would it be to see a prankster with some serious chops win the contest? (Ellen’s flying her favorite dancer out to perform on her show.)

I’ll leave you with the DS team’s favorite submission so far. Thank you, fouseyTUBE, for making our day a little brighter.
