Meet the Same-Gender Salsa Duo Set to Bring the 🔥🔥🔥 to "World of Dance"

To say that we were obsessed with salsa sensations Karen y Ricardo on Season 2 of NBC's "World of Dance" would actually be a bit of an understatement. We COULD NOT GET OVER their jaw-dropping routines—and we loved the fact that they were bringing salsa dance to primetime television.

When Season 3 of "WOD" premieres tonight, another fabulous salsa duo will be competing for the show's million-dollar prize. And Jonathan Troncoso and Jorge Valcarecel aren't just here to slay (although, yes, they are definitely here to slay). They're also breaking new ground as the show's first same-gender salsa pair.

"We want to bring awareness to the same-gender dance community," the duo, who'll be known as Jonathan y Jorge on the show, told Out magazine. "We want everyone to see that same-gender dancing can be just as strong and impactful as traditional dancing. We want people to see us and like or dislike us as dancers and not simply because we're two men dancing together."

Jonathan y Jorge have more than earned their place in the spotlight, with multiple dance titles to their names. Just a month ago, they earned top honors at the World Salsa Summit in the same gender category. (If you want to go down the BEST YouTube rabbit hole, btw, search for "World Salsa Summit same gender.")

Read their full interview with Out, watch some of their best dance clips below, and be sure to tune in to the "WOD" premiere tonight at 9!
