August 1, 2018

We’re deep in the lazy, hazy days of summer—and there’s no better time to kick back, relax, and watch one of the many dancetastic movies that’ve come out recently. Which should you add to your queue? Here are eight must-watches.

“Dance Academy: The Comeback”

We honesty can’t believe it took seven years for the movie version of the hit series “Dance Academy” to get made, but it was well worth the wait. It’s available to watch on Netflix.

“Ballet Now”

A ballet documentary featuring Tiler Peck? Signing up for a free Hulu trial to watch this right now!

“Honey: Rise Up and Dance”

We’ll watch any movie that highlights Atlanta’s underground street dance scene. Catch this film on Netflix, YouTube or Google Play.

“Center Stage: On Pointe”

It may not be as iconic as the original Center Stage, but it’s still pretty fabulous. You can rent this film on YouTube, Amazon Prime, Google Play, Vudu or iTunes.

“Freaky Friday”

You’ll have to wait a few days to watch this one—it premieres August 10th on the Disney Channel—but we promise that you’ll love the choreo by John Carrafa.

“Leap”

“Step Sisters”

We’re so glad step dance is finally getting its time to shine! If you haven’t watched this one already, log into your Netflix account and do it right now.

“Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again”

If you haven’t already seen this 17 times, what are you doing with your life? It’s in theaters now.
