“Ischemia”, choreographed and performed by Kenitia Coleman, combines contemporary and Bollywood-style movements. The music shifts tempo and mood about two thirds through the piece, paralled in shifts in Coleman’s dancing that are sensitive and energetic. The choreography is well timed and performed with the entire body. Kenitia’s clearly articulated hand gestures and even the use of her eyes demonstrate awareness of subtle details and and comprehensive involvment in an aesthetic that make a dancer stand out. We’re looking forward to seeing what she makes next. Congratulations!
