The Dance Camera West Festival is Happening Now!

You guys know I love dance film festivals, and the West Coast keeps serving up events that I'm dying to attend. First there's the San Francisco Dance Film Festival, held annually in November. Now, you lucky L.A. folks can get your tickets to the Dance Camera West Dance Media Festival, which is happening through May 5.

If you can say one thing about L.A., it's that the city knows its dance and its film, and it looks like the festival is going to be pretty amazing. West Coasters will get a chance to see a couple of films DS editors were excited about when they premiered here, like Born to Fly: Elizabeth Streb vs. Gravity and Jiri Kylian: Forgotten Memories—the only documentary about the choreographer who basically created contemporary dance as we know it.

This festival trailer from 2013 gives you a sense of what to expect. Check it out and let us know if you catch any of the screenings over the weekend!
